GLP partners with Visit Portland in an effort to encourage all-season travel

The new short film series highlights the diversity of the region and supports year-round cultural, arts, and community experiences beyond the summer high-season in greater Portland, ME.

Kennebunkport, Maine (September 21, 2022)——GLP Films (GLP), a leading content marketing agency in sustainable tourism, is proud to share a recent campaign in partnership with Visit Portland that celebrates the cultural, artistic, and cuisine offerings in Portland, Maine. Through documentary-style, character-driven storytelling, the campaign encourages all-season travel to the region by highlighting the vibrant arts community and creativity of Portland artists and local businesses.

Today in the Greater Portland area, art (and the artist community) are a part of the fabric of the city and fuel the palpable creative energy felt by residents and visitors alike. The region attracts, nurtures, and supports an incredibly diverse community, which can foster rich experiences for visitors.

The character-driven stories in this film series reframe the traditional view of Maine, highlighting the range of contemporary art being produced in Portland and the ways in which the lively arts community enriches the lives of both Portlanders and travelers. This flourishing community of artists, chefs, and entrepreneurs is shifting Portland away from its reputation as a ‘seaside summer destination’ and transforming it into a year-round cultural and culinary hotspot.

“Creativity has no season,” says Rob Holmes, GLP Founder and Chief Strategist. “Greater Portland is an ideal location for travelers seeking authentic community connection through cultural, arts, and food experiences, in every season of the year.”

GLP worked closely with Visit Portland on this project to highlight the unique stories of artists, chefs, and local business owners in the region whose hard work and creative influences have become the very heartbeat of the city. These videos demonstrate the power of art, culture, and food in Portland and encourage visitors to get off the well-trodden path and to explore the incredible neighborhoods where local artists, foodies, and adventurers thrive.
