By the Sea

Pemaquid Point Lighthouse

Pemaquid Lighthouse

The Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Park is located in the town of Bristol. It’s an iconic attraction and includes a bit of history at the Fisherman’s Museum. And for the early riser, a stunning sunrise viewpoint.

Pemaquid Beach State Park

This quintessential New England Beach is family-friendly and features a range of amenities.

La Verna Preserve

This is a great place to experience the rocky shores and deep forest trails. It’s a favorite spot to take in the beauty of the MidCoast landscape. And it’s dog friendly, so bring the whole family.

Quiet Woodlands

Crooked Farm Preserve

Shoreline, wetlands and woods make this a really great place to hike and experience unique habitats and wildlife. There is boat access for canoes/kayaks, so you can enjoy the beauty from the land of water.

Peter’s Pond Preserve

Swimming hole! This quiet woodland, loop trail rewards you with a cool dip on a hot day. Or just a quiet spot to take in the view.

Dodge Point

Mixed terrain and tall timber are the highlights of this preserve. There are a variety of trails that can take you through the woods and ravines or along the shore of the Damariscotta River (where those delicious Glidden Farm oysters come from!).

Odd Alewives Farm Brewery

A Taste of the Place

Wild blueberry pancakes at Seagull Oceanfront Restaurant in Pemaquid Light

Odd Alewives Farm Brewery

You’ve met Sarah and John through the film. You’ve seen the beautiful gardens and relaxing outdoor hangout. You’ve seen the beer… but now you’ve got to taste the beer. And pizza.

Glidden Point Oyster Farm

Oysters are part of the history of the Damariscotta River. The team at Glidden Point works to preserve this vital river and produces a pristine and a delicious oyster. Enjoying a plate of oysters celebrates the hard work and the bountiful heritage of the MidCoast.

The Contented Sole

Waterfront dining and fresh seafood = An unbeatable combination. This dine-in or dine-outside restaurant is a local favorite that comes highly recommended.

Muscongus Bay Lobster

Family owned and operated, Muscongus Bay Lobster is a BYOB operation. So, grab your friends, some wine or beer (may we suggest a growler to-go from Odd Alewives?) and head over for fresh lobster and bay views.

Art Along the Coast

The Good Supply

Connect with the creative spirit of MidCoast Maine. Shop for unique gifts or a special piece to bring home. Or meet the makers who often stop at this community gathering place.

Langlais Sculpture Preserve

Art in the outdoors. The Langlais Sculpture Preserve was the 90-acre homestead of renowned Maine artist, Bernard Langlais and his wife Helen. This outdoor museum features many of his hand-hewn, quirky & whimsical sculptures made from reclaimed wood and found objects.

Farnsworth Art Museum

This regional museum has a deep collection of American art with a focus on Maine artists like Andrew Wyeth, Louise Nevelson and Robert Indiana. A great place to find inspiration on a rainy day right in Rockland’s vibrant downtown.

Maine Made Products

In MidCoast Maine, you can find perfect artisan souvenirs, from authentic replica buoy chimes by North County Wind Bells to unique woodcrafts made by prisoners from the Maine State Prison. Our friends at HI Travel Tales love listening to their Pemaquid buoy bell as it clangs gently outside their California home.
